BIOGRAPHY

Kadence Neill is a performer, creator, and teacher. For the past 5 years she has worked most prominently with The New York based theater company Nature Theater of Oklahoma, as well as Frequency, a New York based Breathwork studio. Upon graduating from NYU, she became the teaching assistant to Dr. Megan Poe’s Love Class at NYU, (NYU’s most popular class), and has continued to work alongside Dr. Poe on various other projects.

Kadence is curious as to how we can infuse spirituality into the seemingly mundane by training and honing our attention. She is deeply passionate about exploring the boundaries of consciousness, and is most interested in how the uplifting of group consciousness can amplify individual consciousness. She has participated in explorations of the collective mind through theater, dance, breathwork, and writing. Kadence is of the mindset that what we pay attention to grows. Our attention is perhaps the most powerful tool within our human technology, and in a time characterized by fragmentation and distraction, Kadence works to carve out spaces for deeper listening to take place. She believes that with intentional listening — whether that be to the sound of people we know, of people different from us, of social movements, music, nature, of one’s inner voice, etc. — we have the power to transform our lives. There is so much to listen to, and when we do so purposefully, we start to see that every moment has something to teach us, if we are truly open to learning from it. Kadence identifies as a life-long student.

As an actor, dancer, and singer, Kadence has performed in an array of venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn including The Cherry Lane Theater, JACK Arts Center, and Irondale Center, among others. She has performed at International Festivals such as Weiner Festwochen, Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Noorderzon Festival, and Theaterfestival Spielart.

Kadence is a proud native New Yorker and loves all things cheetah print, Proustian, early 2000s pop, and Diamanda Galás. She is currently living in Paris.
